Webcom acquires Yugae Technologies

Bengaluru based Webcom, a leading solution provider of networking, LAN, WAN, and CCTV projects, has acquired Yugae technologies. The acquisition comes after Ravi HH, who was the managing director of Webcom, retired in 2010, and Sumathy Anantharam, one of the founder members, came on board as the director, finance. "We understood that the entire market is moving towards wireless. Yugae Technologies was predominantly into wireless and has provided good solutions for educational institutions, apart from being experts in the field of RFID solutions," told Anantharam. "The managing director of Yugae, Gridharan Vidi, has a rich experience of more than 17 years in the silicon valley USA and has worked with companies like Sun and HP. Prior to starting his own venture, he was heading the R&D team in MRO-TEK. We are happy to inform that Vidi has joined Webcom on board this year as the technical director," added Anantharam.

Prabhakar Kini, MD, Kinfotech, observed the potential growth of the company, and after selling his stakes to Acropetal, joined Webcom as the chairman. He would be involved in the strategy and growth of Webcom. Anantharam also anticipates that with such strong and experienced people on board, Webcom will reach a turnover of Rs 100 crore in the next 3 years.

"We have already appointed a group of developers, and the first software for the end-to-end attendance monitoring system for large firms with different time shift and entry exist points is ready. It is successfully installed on the customer site. Also, ‘customer delight', which is going to be the most wanted application for banks, jewelry showrooms, high-end retail outlets, is also ready for implementation," Anantharam concluded.
