To provide a delightful travelling experience to the tourists around the world who comes to explore Araku valley, Railway minister Suresh Prabhu has recently announced the dedicated Vistadome tourist coach to the nation through videoconferencing from Bhubaneswar. between Visakhapatnam and Araku (around 115 km) under the East Coast Railway (ECoR) zone.
Well, Vistadome is not any fancy term for new gadget or technology, The specially-designed Vistadome air-conditioned coach, claimed to be a first-of-its-kind on Indian Railways, has large glass windows and roof, LED lights, GPS based information system and rotatable seats.

The tourists can now sit relaxed in their seats and get a clear view of the breath-taking Anantagiri ghat section, Lambasingi, Borra caves and the tunnels along the route, from the Vistadome coach, unlike the crammed train compartments.
Only one coach has been attached to the train now on a trial basis while one more will soon be added.
After the launch, Prabhu said the Vistadome coach was being introduced for the first time in the country to promote tourism.
Visakhapatnam MP, Kambhampati Haribabu, attended the function along with Prabhu in Bhubaneswar, while Araku MP, Kottapalli Geeta, MLAs, Railway Division Manager (Visakhapatnam) Chandralekha Mukherjee and others took part in the launch from here.
