UrbanClap teams up with Chennai Traffic police to promote road safety

UrbanClap, India’s largest market place for services had teamed up with Chennai traffic police to keep a check on those who flout traffic rules. In an attempt to monitor two-wheeler riders who are often seen riding without helmets, UrbanClap and Chennai police distributed helmets instead of giving out challans on three locations on Sunday to those found riding without helmets.

The main aim of this activity was to promote safety on roads and make people aware about the importance of following traffic rules. It also helped built relations of confidence and trust between the traffic police and the common people.

Varun Khaitan, Co-founder of UrbanClap, said “As a company, our core expertise lies in the area of services, with a vision of being able to serve people. So, we thought we should do our bit to serve the city and we’re grateful to the authorities for co-operating with us in this endeavor.”

Urban Clap has taken such an initiative before also. It had teamed up with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to assist the authorities in cleaning up the mess that had accumulated after the MCD workers went on a long strike turning East Delhi into a huge garbage dump.
