UrbanClap bags two prestigious at one go, not only in India but on an international platform as well. The brand has recently been felicitated at the Abby Awards held in Goa on 8th April, 2017. The award was in acknowledgement of UrbanClap’s Men’s day initiative in the form of a gender sensitive video. Further drawing attention from across the borders, the video also managed to garner recognition and appreciation from yet another prestigious award function viz ‘The South – Asia Laadli Media and Advertising Awards.
Further elaborating on the win, Varun Khaitan, Co-Founder, UrbanClap said, “As a brand, we create a lot of content about our services but we also acknowledge and communicate how we feel about social issues and the best way to do this is through films. We are absolutely delighted with this recognition from Abby as well as Laadli! This did come as a surprise to us especially since we’ve had to compete with films created by big brands who work with marquis advertising firms.”
UrbanClap was awarded with Silver Award at the Abby Awards in the Gender Sensitive Brand Film Category. The brand was nominated with brands like Star Plus, Sony, Colors, Raymond, Bajaj and Nestle to name a few. Likewise, in The South-Asia Laadli Media and Advertising Awards by Population, the brand was awarded the Jury Appreciation Award for gender sensitivity in the Advertisement Category. Other Brands awarded were Star Plus, Vicks, Pampers etc. Furthermore, Kamla Bhasin was awarded the lifetime achievement award and UC’s film clipping got the maximum cheer from the audience. The event was hosted by Barkha Dutt with Shashi Tharoor as the Chief Guest and Colors TV as the cause partner, backed by UNFPA and IAA. The event witnessed entries from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Myanmar and others.
