The DQ Week Tech
Caravan, a recently started upcountry market based partners tour,
reached its second destination in the capital of Bihar, Patna, after
receiving successful response from Pune city. The event was organized
in association with Patna based Bihar IT Association (BITA).
Witnessing the participation of about 60 channel partners from the
city of Patna as well as the neighboring cities, the event kicked off
with presentations by ESET India, the leader in proactive protection
against cyberthreats and one of the partners of the event. This was
followed by the presentation from Go IP Global Services, which was
the associate partner of the event.

In the first
presentation of Subir Roy, area sales manager and regional manager,
ESS Distributions (exclusive distributor for ESET products in India)
said, “We are looking at getting more channel partners and
increasing the availability of ESET solutions at every level in the
eastern region. Having a strong presence in a new market is our main
objective and by providing higher margins and better sales
satisfaction to our partners, we at ESET see ample opportunity for
our East based partners in all segments be it corporate, SOHO or
end-user markets. I'm confi dent and looking forward for the
partnership.”

The company has
also launched ESET Smart Security 5 and ESET NOD32 anti-virus 5 for
home and SOHO users with features including ESET Live Grid, cloud
based reputation and protection technology, removable media control,
parental control (only in ESET Smart Security 5), Host- ased
Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), and gamer mode. Seeing the
success of the scheme named, 'Drive Smart with ESET,' the vendor
is all set to launch another channel incentive scheme in the coming
months. Post the in-depth presentation of ESET, it was time for
Girijesh Mishra, national head, channel sales, Go IP Global Services
to address the gathering with its new product launches and also
intended to have partners feedback on their products. Mishra talked
at length about how effectively the company is executing large
system integration projects in the IT and telecom space in the
country and their key areas of strength including design,
implementation and management of wired or wireless access networks,
platform solutions, data center solutions, and infrastructure
management services. Besides, the company is aggressively looking at
penetrating the eastern region market while creating a strong
foothold in Patna through more and more partnerships with the local
channel.

The last highlight
of the event was the interactive session by SN Prasad, president,
BITA. In his address, he vividly captured the current status of the
association and urged its gathered members and non members to show
their interest to restart the association activities. As in the
present situation, the case looked quite gloomy with the postponement
of its annual elections as well as the expo to February next year.
Moreover, partners prevailing issues such as MRP, service support by
major vendors like LG and Samsung were also discussed at length. On
the development of CITA, a confederation of eastern associations,
Prasad stated, “CITA is now actively formulating trade practices
policies as well as solving trade disputes.”
