Technocrat Infotech appointed distributor for Kobian

Expansion of the retail business, besides the regular distribution line, seems to be the priority for most of the eastern distributors now.

Although issues of margins and low profitability apart from handling reselling concerns has been cited as the major factors affecting distribution with long established distributors losing the sway, Technocrat Infotech has reinstated its distributorship concerns adding the entire Kobian range in their portfolio at the national level.

Although since January, Technocrat Infotech has been distributing the range of Kobian memory products and UPS, that came under their supervision only in March.

"Our primary focus is on distribution and we have taken up national distribution of many product-lines and brands. Our key strength is reach and commitment to the national channel structure which puts us ahead in the distributorship line", said Debasish Biswas, joint director, Technocrat Infotech.

With the new addition in place, the company is looking forward to a brighter quarter ahead in the components business expecting atleast 10% increase in MoM revenue on an immediate basis.

However, the key focus for the distributor still remains the printing line of business besides focus on storage products.

"The addition of Kobian is poised to play a major role in the coming fiscal quarter over our bottomline", Biswas added.

"Although we haven't put down our strategy on the papers for this FY yet, branch and channel expansion is the key area we are looking at from which Kobian will definitely gain", he concluded.
