Socomec to penetrate more into tier-2 and 3 cities

The company is also planning to include few more products in its fold

Socomec-UPS, the producers of various range of power-supply equipment, has planned to expand its footprints in the tier-1 and tier-2 towns in the country.

Speaking to The DQWeek, Jerome Rodriguez, MD, Socomec-UPS, India, said, "There are lot more changes to come both in our corporate as well as the channel division. We are planning to include few more products in the fold, which, we cannot reveal now. Also, the manufacturing of UPS, which were not done in India now, henceforth, will be done in our own facility at Gurgaon." He also added that Socomec has been growing very fast and has also tasted double-fold turnover. Rodriguez also added that Socomec has outperformed against their competitors even in cut-throat decrease in the dollar value.

Speaking on the channel strategies, Arunabh Ghosh who is heading the channel division said that Socomec, which has well-established pan-India presence, is now planning to concentrate more on expanding footprints especially in the non-metro cities. "We want Socomec to expand geographically and increase footprints in the new segments. Later, we will recruit partners and train them both on sales and services. If needed, we will send our team to the premises of partners," Ghosh said. Socomec, geographically bifurcated their channels as North-East, West, South-1 and South-2. In the forthcoming days the vendor is planning to eye on sectors like SMB, SME, BSFI, government and IT wherein they are already going strong.

Ghosh also said that even during dollar-depreciation, Socomec came up with lot of schemes for the channel community and also affirmed that this year too, there are new schemes for partners. "It is going to be a great ‘surprise', on the way, which the channel community is going to see soon," he concluded.
