Zia, who is responsible for leading Polycom's growth and revenue share in the region, and driving new opportunities in the company's key Asian markets, is bullish on the SMB segment.

The company is looking into exploring the opportunities of the companies which are not interested in setting up any IT infrastructure on premise for deploying video solution and rather use video-as-a service (VaaS). The license cost for Vaas comes as low as Rs 10,000 per user per month.

These targets were revealed during Polycom's media day where company's CEO from Singapore, India MD from Mumbai and journalists from Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai had an interaction with the employees of the company and strategic plans for the year 2014-15.

The company is also focusing on the government projects. It also provided video solutions to different parties this election season.

During the interaction, Zia also urged the government for a waiver in import for the products in this segment as this contributes to the environment. He cited the Sri Lanka example where the government does not charge an import duty of video collaboration equipments.
