Polycom has announced that jewellery retailers, PC Jeweller (PCJ) has selected Polycom video collaboration solutions to enable seamless connectivity between 45 store locations, as well as design and management sites across the country.
The high definition audio and video technology has enabled the company to speed up critical decision-making, serve customers better, and improve team meeting experiences throughout the company.
Prior to the deployment of the videoconferencing solutions, long distances between offices presented a challenge with PCJ's many business units spread across the country. This meant significant travel requirements and less effective, costly collaboration.
The suite of video collaboration solutions deployed at PC Jeweller includes the Polycom RealPresence Group series at all PC Jeweller outlets, for staff to collaborate over product reviews with co-workers, and sample showcases for buyers. For the company, video was seen as an essential way to transform teamwork on new projects, training on new software, internal meetings and employee reviews.
"Video collaboration is a mission-critical application in our day-to-day business - whether for internal purposes or for communication across all PCJ units. Polycom offers a broad range of cost-effective, High Definition video collaboration solutions, which have enabled us a new way of conducting business without the need for frequent travel across large distances. This in itself, has not only helped us achieve significant savings in time and travel cost, but also establish a better work-life balance for many employees. PCJ customers now interact with our Designer Section across all showrooms for made-to-order designs or other modifications," said Balram Garg, MD, PCJ.
Powered by the Polycom RealPresence platform, the collaboration solution is completely interoperable with the company's existing UC systems and networks. Based on open standards to ensure interoperability in multi-vendor environments, the RealPresence Platform transforms islands of remote and on-site employees, and fragmented communications systems, into a seamless video enterprise that makes enterprise-grade video easily and securely accessible to all authorized personnel.
"We are increasingly seeing large Indian SMBs with dispersed workforces turning to video collaboration solutions to facilitate quicker decision making, improve teamwork and enhance their engagement process," said Minhaj Zia, Managing Director, Polycom India & SAARC. "We are pleased to be delivering these benefits to PCJ though real-time visual collaboration, helping them to enhance their working environment through greater productivity and accelerate the achievement of their business objectives."
