Paytm, India's preferred destination for prepaid recharges and bill payments for mobile, DTH, 3G data and utility services donated Rs 20,19,862 in the Uttarakhand CM relief fund to help in the government's rebuilding efforts in the region. Ajay Shekhar Sharma, GM, Paytm handed over the amount to Vijay Bahuguna, CM, Uttarakhand at CM House, Cantt Road, Dehradun.
Paytm through its special initiative asked the people to contribute towards the Uttarakhand flood victims and also informed that Paytm would contribute the same amount that the site receives. In all, 10,245 people donated Rs 10,09,931 and Paytm matched the amount by adding the same and donated a total sum of Rs 20,19,862 towards the relief fund.
Ajay Shekhar Sharma said "We thank people who came forward to donate towards the relief work in Uttarakhand. At Paytm we always believe that in times like this people should always come forward, as even a small amount donated makes a huge difference to people to whom it matters".
