Ola launches ‘Kaali-Peeli’ taxi booking option for Mumbaikars

Booking a cab is now no more a headache for Mumbaikars. Ola, India’s one of the popular mobile apps for cab booking has announced the launch of the Kaali-Peeli taxi booking option for the app users in the city. Customers can now book a local taxi with one touch on the Ola app, without having to step out to find one.

Over 2000 Black and White Taxies drivers across South Mumbai, registered on the Ola platform are equipped with a smartphone that helps them accept booking requests and navigate to the customer’s doorstep making the entire process absolutely hassle-free.

Ola has designed a unique system for booking the Black and White taxies on its app. Using the app, a customer will be able to see all the Taxi near him. Customer can choose between a Black and White taxies and a cab on the app. On entering the drop location and confirming the request, available drivers in the vicinity are alerted through their devices. Basis the information provided, the Taxi driver can decide to accept the booking request.

On doing so, the customer will get a message with the ride details as well as all information on the app. The driver gets navigation on his device to reach the customer’s pickup point. The Black and White taxies will be available to commuters at the meter rates itself. Customers use the app only as a booking interface and shall settle the fare as usual with the taxi driver.

To begin with Ola has kick started the Kaali-Peeli booking option with over 2000 taxis across South Mumbai. Over the next 12 months, this option shall be made available across the whole city of Mumbai. Ola aims to bring over 20,000 Black and White Taxies on their mobile platform by the end of this year.

The Ola app is available on the Windows, iOS and the Android platform.
