Delhi-based distributor Modi Infosol witnessed moderate growth last year and grew at 15% amid shrinking market size.
"We were able to make a stable growth but the over-all market sentiments remained weak," says Anuj Modi, director, Modi Infosol. Apart from the regular sales, the changing form factor of computing is also making a huge difference, mentions Modi.
He adds, "We have a direct competition from telecom channels as they have not converged with the IT channels. With the surge in tablets and smart phones, the distribution business is changing drastically."
Last year Modi Infosol had three major partnerships; Cyber Power, Leviton and CtrlS. The most recent one was the distribution tie-up with CtrlS-a tier-IV data center company-to distribute its data centers nationally.
In one of the earlier interviews he had said, "We feel that both CtrlS and Modi Infosol are growing Indian companies and there is a lot of synergy to take this business to a new level. Also, CtrlS is the largest tier-IV data center in Asia with lot of in-house expertise in cloud offerings, managed services and data center services or SaaS, PaaS and IaaS." It has also aimed Rs 15 crore typically from this business.
Modi adds, "We are looking for venturing into new avenues with more tie-ups this year." The company is also looking forward to sell Adobe products with its recent tie up.
