Education is an unexplored segment and partners should look at providing end to end solutions to customers by exploring potentials in this field, Microsoft advised IT partners on the platform of Tech Caravan event in Mangalore.

The Tech Caravan event was organized in association with Microsoft in hotel Deepa Comforts on 20th August which received overwhelming response from Mangalore IT partners.

The event kick started with presentation of Mr. Prabodh Kumar Pal, Reginal PS Lead-South SMB. In his detailed presentation, Prabodh elaborated on Market trends, Microsoft’s offerings to the partners, PS Initiatives, cloud offerings and programs and promos. His presentation mainly focused on what Microsoft can offer to the channel partners.

Prabodh talked about Microsoft’s offerings in the field of education. He said that education is a big business in current times and it is still unexplored. He gave information about Microsoft’s Campus and School Agreement (CASA) and student certification program. Microsoft Campus Agreement is a subscription licensing program for higher educational institutions.

After the presentation of Prabodh, Mohammad Kashif gave presentation on Microsoft Office 365. Talking about potentials in Mangalore IT market, Kashif, South head of Office 365 said that the city is the second largest growing market in terms of cloud. He talked about utilities of Office 365 and Microsoft’s cloud service offerings to the partners.

Kashif clarified that partners should look at cloud as an opportunity which can positively impact their profit margins.

Lastly, Ritesh Khedia, regional PAM Lead-South gave presentation on Nokia Lumia mobility. Khedia said that upcoming market is growing in smartphones category with estimated 1 billion smartphones by year 2016. He insisted Mangalore IT partners to pitch Nokia products.

After these presentations, Prabodh introduced representatives of Ingram Micro who is the major distributor of MS products in South. Prabodh appealed partners to approach team of Ingram Micro in terms of sales and other assistance.

There were a quite few queries raised by the partners which were aptly addressed by Prabodh during networking over dinner.
