Madhya Pradesh govt launches India’s first Datacentre Cluster

M.P. State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC), an undertaking of Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, working towards promotion and implementation of IT and e-Governance, announced the launch of India’s first Datacentre cluster in Madhya Pradesh.

Announced at ResellerClub’s HostingCon 2014, MPSEDC promised over 100 acres of land in Indore for establishing a datacentre cluster and invited key partners and investors from across the world to discuss possible business and collaboration opportunities.

The datacentre cluster in Madhya Pradesh will come equipped with the entire necessary infrastructure for easy scalable datacentre deployment. Moreover, a purpose-built and dedicated on-site power plant will be built to meet the high power requirements of next-generation datacentres and ensure reliable power supply with minimal transmission losses. The Government shall ensure a single window clearance system for providing the necessary clearances for setting up the data centres such as building permission, environmental clearances etc. Land shall be made available at 25% of the market prices, along with the provision of various incentives for the use clean energy in line with India’s Go Green iniatitve.

Commenting on the occasion, M. Selvendran, managing director, MPSEDC said “We are committed to generating IT business for the public and private sector in the state of Madhya Pradesh while also aligning to the government’s “Make in India” vision. Not only will this cluster enable increased benefits for the Indian IT business but it also represents a significant milestone in putting India on the global map.
