Kaspersky Lab, a secure content and threat management solutions provider, has forayed into SMB and SOHO space with the introduction of the second version of Kaspersky Small Office Security (KSOS) 2, a solution specially designed for the protection of small businesses.
The new solution will be part of the B2B business of Kaspersky. To further strengthen the B2B business, the company has also rolled out Kaspersky Green Team Partner Program for the APAC region. Kaspersky has created a dedicated portal for this program-https://www.kl-prp.com.
The new suite will be suitable for organizations, who have close to 15-25 seats. The company has launched two license types including 15users+ 2file server and 25 users+3file server for two and one year subscription.
In terms of pricing, the KSOS will be 40% lower than regular enterprise solutions. Currently, partners can make online booking for the new solutions, wherein the shipment of products will be starting by end of this month.
The updated solution is simple to configure and provides optimal security for small business computer infrastructure and data, with minimal impact on system resources. The solution protects servers and workstations running on Windows OS, which is the operating system of choice for many small businesses.
Gun Suk Ling, director, corporate sales, APAC said, "We have developed this product specifically to cater to the needs of smaller businesses, some of which may not have a dedicated IT specialist. We are an established security player in the consumer space and large enterprise, but with new solution we are looking at SOHO and SMB market to get into. The core strategy is to educate both the market with the help of online training and roadshows so that we can shift their mindset from pirated or free software. Moreover, we have appointed B2B regional distributors and will be scouting for committed partners to focus in this segment."
For catering to B2B business, the company has given additional responsibility to its existing large enterprise distributor. The company has selected region-wise distributors. Sea Infonet for East and North, Tech Matrix for West and eCap for southern region.
Talking about the new program for the new line of business, Ling informed, "For last many years we were not having a structured program for our B2B partners. Due to which there were lot of confusions, and as a result, we were not focusing on the right set of partners. Therefore, the new Kaspersky Green Team Partner Program, a APAC wide program will be setting clear guidelines for the different set of partners. Under the program, each partner will be categorized into registered, silver, gold, platinum and master platinum categories-a new category introduced for the B2B partners. We will be providing 3 month probation to our partners, before they scale up to next level in the value chain."
