Domestic smartphone brand Karbonn is the latest to join the virtual reality headset bandwagon. It has announced a Google Cardboard-like VR headset along with its two new smartphones- Quattro L52 and Titanium Mach 6.
Both the devices come pre-embedded with a library of engaging games and video content to delight the customers. Users can also create their own VR videos using the pre-embedded VR app. Karbonn's VR glasses seem to be an improvised Cardboard with an elastic head-strap.
"The VR glasses available with Quattro L52 and Mach Six are an effort to address this challenge by bringing VR technology to consumers across economic spectrum at price-points under Rs 10,000," said Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles.
The Quattro L52 sports a 5-inch 720p HD screen while the Mach Six offers a 6-inch display and are priced Rs 6,790 and Rs 7,490 respectively. Hardware specifications of both the models are similar. They are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory with support for up to 32GB microSD cards. There is a 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP selfie camera.
