Job Fair Conducted At COMPEX 2018

ITTA-PDY used to hire employees as and when required through known circle for  reliability reason or else from a HR consultancy firm also. At one point of time,  we were not able to recruit employees that much easily. Thus, this reason made us think that why not we conduct a JOB fair?

As you all are aware, a job fair is an event usually organized by a third party recruitment consultant at a neutral venue like a school or college auditorium. And a successful career fair requires a modest investment of time, energy and resources, especially when it's first-of-its kinds.

At this bewilderment, we have decided to conduct a JOB fair along with our COMPEX-2018. In order to, reduce expenses involved in the organization of the job fair. Moreover, we were in need of only limited vacancies such as 20 to 25 employees for our community.

The public started calling us after in receipt of our COMPEX-2018 advertisement that includes our JOB FAIR ad too and inquiring which are the major vendors that are participating for the JOB fair? To give a clear idea about how we are going to conduct this fair,  we Printed a banner as " Job seekers are requested to fill up our application and hand-over in our JOB fair stall and after a week time, applied candidates will be called for an interview."

Our JOB Fair manager, Mr. Gangasekar who designed a common application with self-explanatory to the job seekers. Well, The first girl candidate came with her mother for our JOB Fair while we were  getting ready for the COMPEX opening up Pooja. The girl & her mother wanted to go home after in receipt of our application and come back after Friday' Raagu Kalam (10 to 12pm) is over. In the beginning, we were a bit reluctant.

Subsequently, We don't want to change someone's belief and we gave her an application. To our surprise, Both mother and daughter came to our venue exactly 5 minute after 12 pm and placed the filled application under the feet of Lord Vinayagar idol that was left untouched after our morning pooja over at the entrance. We felt, Wow! What a real job seeker & a devotional job oriented candidate, YES that is the nature of candidates we require.

Secondly, a trendy candidate who had his stall also at the basement(came to know later) was filling up our application with the help of his close buddy through a cell phone (I remembered Munna Bhai MBBS), I guess that he must have sent a snap shot of our application to his remote supporter already without our knowledge and that was funny & unusual.

We have received 25 filled application through this exhibition, though that was not appreciated widely and definitely solved our purpose. We had a very good exposure and as well our "ITTA” branded to the public. This JOB fair has not only given us a great experience but paved our way for the future to conduct a big JOB Fair to generate fund for our community.
