Infotech Software Dealers Association (ISODA) recognized its members for their outstanding performance during the 6th edition of ISODA Tech Summit organized in Langkawi, Malaysia from 4th-7th February, 2015. The association honored five solution providers for their achievements in business with the Business Excellence award.
This year, Chennai based Secure Network Solutions India Pvt Ltd won the ISODA Award for Business Excellence, Mumbai based LDS Infotech Pvt Ltd was the runner up. ISODA also recognized solution providers who outperformed in their respective niche areas. Guwahati based BMG Informatics Pvt Ltd won the Significant Achiever award for excellent performance in the non-metro location category; Mumbai based Compusoft Advisors India Pvt Ltd won the Significant Achiever award for excellent performance in Niche Business Area of Applications. And JNR Management Resources Pvt Ltd got the award for excellent performance in Niche Business Area - Website Security Solutions.
The jury panel comprising of Biren Shah, MD, Adit Microsys, KV Jagannath, CEO, Choice Solutions and L Ashok CEO, Futurenet Technologies and the current president of ISODA rated the applicants on a scale of 1 to 10 and then summed up all the ratings to arrive at the final awards. Biren Shah said that the objective of the awards was to engage more members and recognize upcountry partners. He said that the jury based on all the applications for the awards, evaluated the financial performance of the company during 2015 and also analyzed overall performance during the last fiscal and business conduct of the company.
“Awards are the recognition of the hard work of any entrepreneur. Winners can leverage this honor and can utilize the awards in their branding and image building activities”, Shah said.
Upon his achievement, N.K.Mehta, MD, Secure Network Solutions India said, “It is indeed gratifying to be recognized, honored & rewarded by our own community – ISODA. It’s also very special as we had been runners up for the last 4 years.”
Talking about the business plans that helped the company to achieve huge success during the previous fiscal year, Mehta said that the company placed emphasis on its human resource to achieve quality results.
“We strongly believe people play a very critical role in our endeavor. We adopted the model: Employees First Customer Second ( EFCS ) . We took care of employees even to the grass root level and they in turn took care of the customers. Secondly, we introduced the concept of MTR – Mutual Trust and Respect among employees, superiors and also among peers. And lastly, we introduced Balance Score Card methodology and 360 degree View appraisal system”, he said.
Talking about the business plans in 2016, Mehta said that the company would continue to focus on people related strategies. “We have consciously decided not to focus on any financial strategies but continue to focus on people related strategies. We believe this would prove to be another game changing year for us”, he said.
The runner up for the Business Excellence award this year, Amarnath Shetty, Managing Director of LDS Infotech said, “It is a great pleasure to get this ISODA award for Business excellence. Our business strategy is to focus more on customer satisfaction and prompt delivery of solutions to client turned positive for us during last fiscal. Our business strategy was the foundation for creating awareness, generating interest in our products and services, closing new sales and continuing customer engagement and that played a significant role in achieving our goals in a much faster way.”
The awardees had to pass a very stringent evaluation test to fetch the awards. The jury considered last 3 years performance of the applicants. It also examined the latest technology services & solutions offered by the company in the software sector. The panel analyzed the business Practices adopted by the company and how it helped in achieving the company’s goals. It also gave weightage to new initiatives and best practices, marketing, sales and customer relationship strategies and other recognitions and awards by the vendors along with the financial performance of the company.
Prashant Jain, Promoter of JNR Management Resources said, “We have been already awarded by our key principle Symantec as a partner of the year award for the APAC region. However, it is important to get recognition from your peers. I am thankful to ISODA for giving me this honor.”
Talking about the business strategies that brought success to JNR Management Resources, Jain said, “We signed a number of bulk contacts with the OEMs as well as back to back contracts with resellers. This reduced our liability and increased our margins. Last year we also tied up with one of the bankers for a forward contract to manage the risk of foreign exchange fluctuation.”
Devesh Aggarwal, MD, Compusoft Advisors India said that the ISODA Award for Business Excellence was the biggest award given by the veterans of the software industry. “With this award, the industry veterans in our community recognize and certify our talent and proficiency. Last year we moved our focused more towards Services and Solutions business and concentrated heavily on ERP and CRM solutions. We also shifted our focus from the SMB segment to Corporates and achieved 100 percent growth. I think this strategy was the key to our success”, Aggarwal said.
Bhaskar Kalita, Owner of BMG Informatics said, “Any award gives you recognition and motivates one to take up new challenges. ISODA awards give entrepreneurs such as myself, mileage from vendors and customers. Adoption of new technology and better support to customers were the major pillars of success in our business last year.”
This year the official theme for the Summit was ‘Partner 2 Progress’. Total 83 ISODA members participated in the summit. Tushar Parekh, the Tech Summit Chairperson, communicated the relevance of the theme Partner2Progress. He stressed that India, with its vibrant economy and innumerable opportunities, has given every ISODA member the chance to work closely with the community.
ISODA organized 2 panel discussion on Cloud and Security during the Summit that evoked everyone’s thought process. During the session Uncloud the Mind, panelists discussed the current scenario in the Cloud market. The next session was dedicated to Security business. Panelists discussed trends in the Security business with the advent of cloud and also the BYOD factor.
“There was a strong sense of camaraderie, collaboration and partnership throughout the event; exactly as we had envisaged from the theme Partner2Progess. Based on the feedback of the sponsors, the participation from the members, sponsors and media, the interactions during the Summit and the feedback submitted by the members, we are glad that the objective of the Summit was met completely - collaboration. We will keep tabs on the follow-up activities and ensure that the members and sponsors achieve more”, he said.
