Intellect Bizware develops 'Gemware' for diamond industry

Navi Mumbai-based end-to-end SAP service provider, Intellect Bizware, has developed a solution based on the SAP platform called Gemware 2.0, specifically addressing the requirements of the diamond industry.

Sabahat Kazi, director, solutions, Intellect Bizware said, "SAP has always had comprehensive solutions for almost all verticals but when it came to the diamond industry, it did not have an extensive offering. We are proud developers of Gemware and we believe this would be first of its kind solution offered in this market."

The company official states that the challenges in this industry are unique and adoption of technology amongst customers is not prevalent in addition to skillset challenge. Kazi said, "The companies overall have expanded their operations and the need of the hour is to have a robust and dynamic system to cater to these demands."

While developing the solution, the company had to tackle with issues related to certification, pricing variation, huge amount of data to be managed and more. Kazi said, "Even a single man unit is referred to a workshop." He further said, "We have addressed all the critical aspects of this trade and have a comprehensive solution based on SAP platform. We have already deployed the solution at two establishments and few customers are already in the pipeline."

Kazi said, "We believe that there are more than 400 organizations in this industry who are our potential customers. We will be addressing the requirements of three markets including Mumbai, Surat and Jaipur." He further said, "We are looking at both large and smaller organizations wherein the business revenue is ranging from Rs. 100 crore to over Rs. 1,500 crore."

The average time for deployment for the solution in a large organization is 6-7 months while in smaller organization it will take about 3-4 months, as per the company official.
