Dehradun-based Uttaranchal
IT Traders Association (UITTA) played a T20 cricket match with Sri
Lanka under 19 cricket team recently. Arranged by the executive
committee of the UITTA, in collaboration with the Global Uttrakhand
T20 Cricket Society, the event was sponsored by chipset giant, Intel.
UITTA won the toss and elected to bat.

The opening pair of
Shekhar and Devesh did not last long under the pace attack from the
young and aggressive Sri Lankans, but then the UITTA team steadied
down with Vikas Dewan and Gurmeet Singh, adding a valuable 50 runs
partnership together before Mittu was bowled by the off-spinning
delivery by Matthews.

UITTA scored 110 runs for
9 wickets in 20 overs, while Vikas dewan alone contributed 52 runs
and remained not out. The Sri Lankan team won the match in just 12
overs with a loss of only one wicket. According to Balbir Rathore,
President of UITTA, the association is planning to organize a similar
match with the visiting Australia under 19 team in February, 2011.
