What will you say when you buy a laptop and you get to know that your laptop has been assembled and are not under warranty? A major issue came from the east part of India where a customer Ashish Bagla, Founder, CEO& MD, Shakambaree Technologies purchased an HP Laptop Model 15-n259TX in July 2015 from Nimbus Computer, Kolkata for his son studying in Gurgaon.

Recently on November 2, the Display was giving some problem so the school lodged a complain with HP on November 4 which was very promptly attended the very next day.

After inspection they refused to replace it and then customer bought it to Kolkata & lodged another call which was again very promptly attended but the same was again closed without replacement with the same reason which was stated in Delhi.

On asking for not resolving the issue, Ashish got mail from HP stated, “During the visit, it was found that the component number of the failed (Display Panel) is not matching with the original (Display panel) - component number supplied with the product. As per HP’s Limited warranty statement, we will be unable to replace the spare under Warranty because the defective spare part does not belong to the unit supplied. However we can support the replacement of spare part on a chargeable basis at the best price. We look forward to your acknowledgement to share the quotation at earliest”.

But the point is when customer bought a sealed packed brand new laptop from an Authorized HP Vendor and the person from HP support staff in Delhi was agreeing to the fact that this is the 1st call logged against this Laptop and it was never been opened previously then how come the supplied part is not under warranty.

In an exclusive interview with The DQ Week, Ashish Bagla, said, “I bought a laptop of trusted brand HP for my son to help his studies and I got to know that its company assembled parts are out of warranty. They are refusing to resolve the problem and asking money to replace the part in warranty when HP support staff is agreeing during first lodge that it was never been opened previously. Due to lack of Laptop my son is facing a lot of problems in schools and his studies are getting hampered”.

He also requested top HP officials to look into the matter and get the issue resolved. As HP will comment on the same after few days and The DQ Week will cover their comment on next story following up the same.
