GIGABYTE Technology (India) Pvt. Ltd is embarking on an ambitious plan for 2016 to increase its marlet share in the Indian DIY (Do It Yourself) PC market. The plan involves enhanced and focused sales and marketing initiatives targeting specific high-growth market segments and categories in the broader PC market for 2016.
This year, GIGABYTE intends to significantly strengthen and widen its market base in the gaming motherboard category. Accordingly, a major chunk of its marketing initiatives will be focused on the gaming segment, targeting gamers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
“The gaming segment in India is becoming more vibrant with each passing year, with many gamers graduating from casual to serious gamers, more platforms to exhibit gaming features, and more events and contests with active participation from gaming hardware and software companies,“ Sunil Grewal, Director at GIGABYTE Technology (India) Pvt. Ltd., said adding,“ Gaming related activities are now blooming even in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, which a couple of years back was restricted to only top tier cities.“
“For the gaming enthusiast in India, GIGABYTE is determined to offer the best and latest technologies available to gamers with its motherboards that are loaded with innovations for them,” Grewal added.
In addition to promoting major gaming events on its own as well as with other leading PC component vendors, GIGABYTE also intends to enhance its presence in the top Indian gaming media and gaming-related websites. Simultaneously, the company will reach out to gamers through various platforms, be it direct personal interactions or social media to convey the message of how GIGABYTE G1™ motherboards are uniquely placed to give the gamers in India a performance boost while playing both casually or in a high-pressure competition.
2016 will also see GIGABYTE India increase its marketing activities and focus on the consumer / end-user segments that demand high-performance desktop PCs. In India, there is an increasing demand for such high-end motherboards from user categories like graphic and animation studios, film and TV production houses, educational institutions, and professional gamers, among others. Tier 2 and 3 cities are also witnessing an increase in demand for high-end motherboards.
In addition to formally educating its channel partners on its high-end motherboards, GIGABYTE has recently started formal engagements with the enthusiast users through personal interactions, industry-specific events, educational programs and social media. In its formal engagement programs, GIGABYTE is involved in educating its partners and end-users on the technologies of its higher end motherboards. These orientation programs focus on the innovative features of its high-end motherboards, such as multi graphics card support, latest networking technologies, on board professional sound solution and the industry’s best connectivity such as USB3.1 over the new Type-C™ connector, onboard fast M.2 ports and high speed NVMe storage solution support.
Another major focus in 2016, will be on the GIGABYTE BRIX, the ultra-compact and versatile DIY barebone PC. Right since its India launch last year, the BRIX from GIGABYTE has witnessed impressive sales across all regions – thanks to the growing demand from organizations requiring point of sale (POS) terminals, banks, educational institutions, hospitals, multimedia production houses, gamers, and shopping malls, among others. Also, the encouraging sales can be attributed to the growing popularity of the HTPCs (Home Theatre Personal Computer) concept among home users across the country.
Sunil Grewal said, “To appeal to the institutional users such as banks, the government sector and departmental stores, GIGABYTE is in the process of enrolling channel partners, which specialise in providing solutions to such user categories.”
The GIGABYTE BRIX comes as a smart solution especially because it optimizes power consumption, while offering a lot of processing power and connectivity in a form factor that is small enough to be placed anywhere – whether mounted behind your monitor on your desk or even elegantly hidden within your home entertainment setup.
GIGABYTE India plans to further augment its post-sales network across the country by adding to its existing number of Authorized Collection Centers (ACCs) and Special Service Providers (SSPs). While ACCs are basically GIGABYTE partners, SSP centers are manned by GIGABYTE service personnel who directly interact with end-users.
The company already has GIGABYTE exclusive service centres in major cities, such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. These centres are also regional service hubs for their respective zones and are equipped with the latest repair equipment and software solutions to facilitate sophisticated testing and troubleshooting. These are manned by skilled and experienced engineers.
Plans are afoot to revamp these exclusive service centres, and set up complete customer experience zones within their premises. These zones will demonstrate the latest technologies and unique, powerful features of GIGABYTE motherboards – exploring the thrilling possibilities in desktop computing whether it’s in the sphere of rich multi-media or extreme performance.
