Gurgaon-based Foetron has launched a mobile application, which is in its first phase, for Gurgaon Police as part of its corporate social responsibility aimed at bridging the gap between city residents of the police.
The mobile app is available across platforms viz., Android, iOs and Windows.
According to the release sent by Foetron, Gurgaon police envisions achieving the quickest public outreach and connectivity options, through the app, that will always be present on the user's mobile device, particularly in times of distress.
This application aims to address a lot of issues, mentions the release. It says, "...In case of issues when the need arises to connect with the local police representatives, the process for finding numbers or email IDs is very time consuming. Through the Gurgaon Police application, the residents are brought closer to the police representatives of their region and district and all contact details are provided. At any time, residents can reach out to the local police representative on email or through a direct telephone line."
Sunny Sharma, founder and CEO at Foetron hopes that the needs for such apps remain restricted but at the same time people must know of facilities provided by Gurgaon Police like special helplines and complaint cell. He adds,"In a city like Gurgaon where a very vast majority carries smartphones, having the utility of an app like this can go a long way."
Releasing the app, Gurgaon Police Commissioner, Alok Mittal was quoted in TOI saying, "For everything, people mostly dial 100 and we start coordinating from that point onwards. But this app will give people contact details, phone numbers and emails of the beat officers, police stations, and district level officers, ensuring that the complaint reaches the right person in no time."
