Envent
Worldwide, a Delhi based consumer electronics solution provider,
has
entered into the IT and telecom accessories and lifestyle
products
with the appointment of Venktron as its first western regional
distributor. The company is aggressively looking at building its
channel and distribution business to roll out its products, and
has
taken the regional distribution (RDs) path to cover pan-India.
However,
while catering to northern region, it will have two separate
regional
distributors for IT and telecom products. It has also roped in
Sangee
Communications for the entire range of telecom accessories.
Sangee will be responsible for the Delhi, Rajasthan, UP, and
Punjab
markets. Moreover, for its IT range of products, the company is
likely to appoint Comnet Vision. For southern and eastern
regions,
it has selected RDs, but waiting for agreement to be signed up.
The company will
complete its distribution business and the appointment of
service
partners in next 10 days.
In an
exclusive interview with The DQ Week, Sukhesh Madaan, CEO,
Envent
India said, “We are ready with our first shipment of 45,000
units
of IT products including mice, keyboards, web cameras,
headphones,
etc. But our telecom range will be available in the market by
early
April. Broadly, our channel will consist of traditional and
non-traditional channel to drive our business. The traditional
channel will have our regional distributors, 1,000 IT branded
stores, telecom retailers and LFRs. Additionally, we are also
looking
at 50 online websites to push our products.”
Besides
IT,
the company is quite bullish about its telecom business. Its
telecom
range will be having entire range of Apple (iPhone, iPad,
MacBooks),
Samsung smartphones and tablets, and BlackBerry. In the
lifestyle
products category, it will be introducing few innovative
products
like alcohol breath analyzers and ionizers through channel.
These
products are being imported from countries like Taiwan, Korea
and China, but are designed by its local R&D team. The
company is
also coming up with its exclusive retail store-Gadgets and
Accessories
(GAS). “If all goes as per our plan, we will open our first two
stores at Nehru Place and Lamington
Road in this fiscal. But our aim is to touch 25 stores by March,
2013,” said Madaan.
Apart from
India operations, the company has also expanded its footprints
into
other countries like China and Sri Lanka. It is also further
moving
into the markets of Africa, South Africa, Canada and Dubai.
The
company
is also expanding its Indian team by adding sales personnel. The
company has appointed regional manager for north as well as area
sales manager. For the back-end operations, it has tied-up with
Channel Play for logistics and channel network.
“The IT
and
telecom accessories market has started maturing in India.
Moreover,
this market is rapidly growing with organized and unorganized
players. Therefore, our brand Envent will be competing with
bands
like Microsoft, Logitech and iBall in terms of pricing and
quality.
Initially, we may start with low volumes, therefore, we will
charge
for the quality,” concluded Madaan.
