Avnet Technology Solutions has been roped in by EMC as a global distributor. Under the deal Avnet will provide its channel partners with EMC’s new VSPEX BLUE hyper-converged infrastructure solution.
This will allow channel partners to design and deploy new solutions that offer their SMB, mid-market and enterprise customers the cloud and data center benefits of hyper-converged infrastructure, and at the price points and sizes that align with their needs. The EMC VSPEX BLUE hyper-converged infrastructure appliance (HCIA) will be available to customers through Avnet’s highly knowledgeable channel community in Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America.
William Chu, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia-Pacific, said, “EMC has created a unique hyper-converged infrastructure solution tailored to the specific needs of these customers, giving partners a clear opportunity to address this segment with flexible information infrastructures in the right scale. With Avnet providing the assembly, integration, logistics and services around the VSPEX BLUE framework, we will be able to accelerate partners’ time to market.”
Avnet will help partners integrate a wide array of management, security, and information infrastructure offerings into VSPEX BLUE solutions. The solution will be tailored according to the unique needs of their customers by Avnet’s EMC-certified engineers. This will reduce the time of deployment for Avnet partners and provide them with tested, validated and fully documented converged infrastructure solutions.
“EMC selected Avnet to help bring the VSPEX BLUE hyper-converged infrastructure appliance to market because of their proven ability to transform technology into true business solutions, easily and simply for partners and their customers. Avnet is a global company at the forefront of technology, and its scale and reach will enable us to quickly bring this highly differentiated HCIA to market and begin addressing the unique business needs of our customers,” said Gregg Ambulos, senior vice president, Global Channel Sales, EMC Corporation.
