Data Security Council of India (DSCI) appointed Rama Vedashree, as Chief Executive Officer. She succeeds Nandkumar Saravade for this role.

Over the years, DSCI has positioned itself as the key industry body in Data Protection and Cyber Security. At this juncture when DSCI charter is envisaged with a strategic focus on Cyber Security, I am confident that Rama’s Industry experience will enable DSCI evolve a strategic outlook in areas of public advocacy, thought leadership, Industry development and capacity building in Cyber Security.”
Gopal Pillai, former Home Secretary and Chairman, DSCI, commented, “We are pleased to welcome Rama as part of DSCI. Her rich experience working with Government and industry will greatly benefit DSCI and contribute significantly in carrying forward the DSCI charter to the next level. ”
Rama Vedashree who joined DSCI said “I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to lead DSCI in achieving its vision to be the premier industry body for making Cyber Security an integral pillar of the Digital Transformation that India is witnessing. DSCI team and I, will build on the foundation built over the last eight years, and partner with industry and government to make India a Global Hub for Cyber security products and services”.
DSCI will continue to focus on policy advocacy and raising the maturity of information security across the industry, strengthening linkages between the government and industry to address specific issues, talent development, implementation of government policies, plans and projects in India and abroad, amongst others.
Rama Vedashree was Vice President, NASSCOM leading all initiatives in Domestic IT, eGovernance, and Smart Cities among others. She was also leading the Healthcare initiative in partnership with the Apex Health Sector body, NATHEALTH and had been anchoring new initiative of NASSCOM on making India a global hub for Cyber Security. She has extensive experience of over 25 years working, having worked at NIIT Technologies, Microsoft and General Electric (GE) India. She is a Gold Medalist from the University of Hyderabad and has also completed an Executive Education, program at Harvard Business School, and a short program in High Performance Computing at Cornell University.
