Dehradun ‘IT Vision 2013' expo draws 1.5 lakh footfall

Dehradun based Uttranchal IT Traders Association (UITTA) has received an overwhelming response from its 3-day long ‘IT Vision 2013'. Although, the rain gods played havoc on the inauguration day (December 14, 2012), due to which the setup got delayed; the inauguration was done on time by Chief Guest Dinesh Agarwal, Minister of IT, Government Of Uttarakhand. The fair was conducted well and the event saw excellent walk-ins on both the days (December 15-16). The last day was packed for the whole day. The arrangements and response were well appreciated by sponsors as well as the participants.

According to Vikas Dewan, secretary UITTA, "Though the exact estimates of sales figures are not available with us right now, but as per the personal feedback taken from the stakeholders, the lead generation was pretty good. We received great participation from all the major OEMs and channel community of Uttarakhand."

Other major stalls had the HP notebooks, ultrabooks, AIO desktops and wi-fi range of printers, Dell range of new laptops and projectors were also well appreciated. Digisol and Ricoh being the co-sponsors to the event had the best looking stalls displaying their best and latest range of products.

Other brands were UPS majors like APC, Numeric, Uniline, Su-Kam and IT majors Apple, Acer, Asus, Wipro, Wep, Brother, Canon, Epson, Zyxel, F&D, Norton, Net Protector, Micromax, Wishtel, Huawei, Technotrain, Eldarado, LG, Sensors and many more. The DQ Week was the media partner of the event.

To add spice and wings to the show, UITTA invited an upcoming lead singer Ravi Singh and his troupe for a three-hours song and dance show, which enthralled the audience though it took away the audience from the stalls for a while.

"This year, we had seen a major draw with close to about 1.5 lakh plus visitors visiting the event and having hands on experience of products they generally get to read about and see on TV/ internet," informed Dewan.
