Dassault Systemes Partners with Indus University, Ahmedabad

Dassault Systèmes has announced its partnership with Indus University. The signed MoU will facilitate the set-up of a Collaborative Learning and Innovation Centre (CLIC) at the University. CLIC will allow students to use Dassault Systèmes V6 Technologies along with LEGO Mindstorms, and ARDUINO Micro-Controller to build cyber-physical projects that will answer problems through inter-disciplinary engineering and management approaches.

CLIC will encourage students to experiment with real life and industry scenarios by creating an environment of experiential learning through ‘problem-based-learning’ among students, faculty members and working professionals. It will make use of world-class resources that promote multi-disciplinary engineering for efficient product and process development. CLIC will comprehensively offer skills-enhancement and academic projects on Product Designing and Engineering, Systems Engineering, Modern Materials (Plastics and Composites), Manufacturing and Process Engineering, Casting and Forging Technology, Robotics and Automation and Ergonomics.

Speaking at the signing of the MoU with Dassault Systèmes, Nagesh Bhandari, president, Indus University stated, “I am delighted that CLIC will now be one of the strategic Centre of Excellence of the University. CLIC will not only be a tool for empowerment with the latest technology but also a hub of innovation as we go along. At CLIC we intend to answer many questions and problems that confront us in the industrial world and the overall society.”

Expressing his enthusiasm at the setting up of the Center, Dr. Chandan Chowdhury, MD India, Dassault Systèmes said, “CLIC will be a tool for future professionals, to equip them to become globally competitive technology professionals. India is looking to be center stage of global development and centers like CLIC will be the reservoir for the required talent pool for the country.”

The company will offer V6 based collaborative technologies which will help students learn crucial employability skills and create innovative projects. As Training and Projects Partner to Dassault Systèmes, ADCC InfoCAD Ltd. will be giving a dedicated and resident expert technical resource to drive the trainings on a regular basis and guide the projects with the students.

Dassault Systèmes plans to set up 20 CLIC centres in several universities and technical institutes in India to promote “Problem-Based-Learning” methodology using V6 technologies.
