Country’s First Ever Dscoop event held in Bangalore

Leading brand managers and agencies from FMCG, telecom and IT verticals benefit from industry best practices in digital printing

Five print service providers from Bangalore organized country’s first ever Dscoop (Digital Solutions Cooperative, a cooperative of HP Graphics Arts Users) event in the city on February 19, 2016. Various print service providers involved in outdoor and indoor signage, advertising and general commercial printing and close to 30 brand owners from FMCG, telecom, IT and other verticals attended the event and benefitted by building awareness from industry best practices in digital printing including printing and finishing solutions and softwares.

The Dscoop event was sponsored by HP, Esko and 3M. All the three sponsors presided over various sessions to share the industry best practices and new innovations.

“Customer needs are evolving rapidly and they are looking at innovations in digital printing to answer these needs. The Dscoop event was about the future of the digital print industry which brought together all the key stakeholders in the entire ecosystem. We had HP as our executive sponsor – the technology leader in digital printing along with 3M and Esko as the key partners for the event and some of our PSPs who are doing path breaking work. All these stakeholders communed together to discuss the industry best practices and unique possibilities with respect to digital printing, softwares & solutions, printing applications with the present brand owners.” said, Biju Paul, Board Member Dscoop, Asia Pacific.

Puneet Chadha, Director, Market Development, Graphics Solutions Business, Asia Pacific and Japan, HP Inc., in his presentation shared insights on industry best practices in digital printing and also referred to large format success stories from around the globe; helping brand managers and PSPs explore new possibilities to reach their end customers.

“Laying emphasis on building the brand image with sustained and effective customer communication, Santosh, Business Development Manager, Commercial Solutions Division, 3M, also touched upon some of the recent innovations in signage and displays especially from a retail standpoint.”

Frederick John, Sales Manager, Packaging and Containers - South at Esko India discussed how Point of purchase needs to be compelling enough to inspire and relate to the customers’ aspirations, hence playing a key role in the customers’ buying decision in a retail environment. He also discussed case studies form across the world and threw light on arriving at the perfect workflow 3D Presentation through the studio visualizer.

Speaking on the occasion, Arjun Reddy from SR Digital Imaging said, “HP and Dscoop are doing a wonderful thing through this initiative. Bringing all the stakeholders together and trying to raise the bar in digital printing. Such platforms are an opportunity for us to not just meet and network with prospective clients and competitors but also knowing and learning what other people are doing. Possibilities with digital are endless, and if leveraged properly it can create better and unique business proposition for the print service providers”.

One of the manufacturers of steel turbines in India said, “We have a presence in 150 countries over the world and are looking at expanding our business. One of the reasons I came to this particular event was to meet the creative community. Since we are going global, digital marketing will play a key role. So I wanted to get fresh ideas and meet new vendors. I’m very happy to be a part of this conference and look forward to more such events in future.”

The presentations were followed by guided tours to large format application stations showcased by partnering print service providers and included innovative commercial printing applications and application stations by 3M and Esko.

The next Dscoop event is planned in Mumbai in May.
