Kanpur-based Comexcell
Technologies has got a top slot in Uttranchal's IT market. The
company is optimistic about its future growth and would penetrate
into tier-3 cities and upcountry markets. Comexcell caters close to
60 percent of the total hardware business of Kanpur and operates in
the state's entire IT market. The company generates an annual revenue
of around Rs 12 crore from sales in Uttranchal and Rs 75 crore from
Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to The DQ Week
on emerging as Uttranchal's top dealer, Rohit Kohli, CEO, Comexcell
Technologies said, "We have been in Uttranchal for the last
couple of years, and most of the sales come from Dell laptops and
accessories." Kohli attributes this success to the partnership
with Dell as well as a shift in consumers' choice from desktops to
laptops."We will try to remain on top, and get deeper into the
tier-3 cities and upcountry markets," he added.

President of Uttranchal IT Traders Association (UITTA) and CEO
of Dehradun-based Elegance however fetched ignorance when
asked to comment on the subject. Comexcell started IT business in
1995 and entered into the retail business in 2001. The company
maintains six sales outlets in Kanpur, and one each in Lucknow and
Dehradun. It showcases several IT products from various vendors that
include HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Wipro, HCL, LG, Dell and Toshiba.
