CMDA’s 18th IT expo kick starts in Pune

Computers & Media Dealers Association (CMDA), Pune inaugurated its 18^th IT exhibition here today. Fatehchandra Ranka, president of federation of trade association of Pune inaugurated the four days technology show. Jnanesh Singh, National Sales Manager, Recoh India Limited and Rishi Prasad, Marketing Manager, Western Digital (UK) Limited were the chief guest of the event. The dignitaries also launched CMDA directory at the event.

Addressing the audience, chief speaker Fatehchandra Ranka said that traders needed to unite to fight against the online challenge. “Online is a major challenge and we can fight with the online threat only by uniting ourselves. We should stop competing with each other and we should unite to compete against the online market places”, Ranka said.

Jnanesh Singh, National Sales Manager of Recoh India said that Pune is the very strategic market for Recoh and traders have given tremendous contribution in developing this market. “Our partners created our base in Pune and today it is one of the fast growing markets for us in India”, Singh said.

CMDA's IT Expo is one of the biggest and only IT show in Pune. The main objective of the IT Expo is to promote and display latest IT technology. This year the theme of the four days technology show is “IT for Smart Cities.”CMDA has also arranged 11 technical and management seminars mainly highlighting latest technology and solution, career opportunities in the IT field. The association has also organised lucky draw and various other activities for visitors.

“To encourage exhibitors, we have declared various awards such as best stall, best sales executives, best innovative product in expo. This will give more boosts to participants in IT Expo. Due to such activities, every year CMDA’s get very good response from large vendors, regional distributors, system integrator, consumable dealers and visitors. This year we are expecting more than 30,000 + visitors to visit IT Expo”, said Vinod Kulkarni, Secretary of CMDA.

CMDA has also decided to highlight environmental concerns through this event. As part of its corporate social responsibility, CMDA has started promotion of e-Waste collection during expo period and the activity has been sponsored by Green IT Recycling Centre.
