The theme of the IT EXPO is ‘Get IT smartly – Touch IT live
Pune based Computer and Media Dealers Association, popularly known as CMDA-Pune kicked off its 17th IT EXPO on Thursday. This year the theme of the IT EXPO is ‘Get IT smartly – touch IT live ’. The four day tech bonanza aims to bring vendors and partners on a common networking platform and create awareness about technology trends among citizens.
Mr. Suryakant Jadhav, Joint Secretary of Directorate, Information Technology Department, Maharashtra government was the chief guest and Mr. Kailash Katkar, founder and CEO of Quick Heal Anti-virus was the honor of guest in the inauguration ceremony.
In his key note address, Mr. Suryakant Jadhav emphasized on central government’s ‘Digital India’ campaign. He said that Maharashtra government has already started working on central government’s initiative. He said that Maharashtra was the first state to register for 'dot Bharat' domain.
“It’s a proud moment of every Indian citizen. I am sure it will help us in long term”, he said.
Mr. Jadhav informed that the state government has created a virtual space for citizens to preserve their important documents. He said citizens can get easy access to their documents.
“This ambitious project would help the citizens to preserve their important papers from loss”, he said.
Mr. Kailash Katkar, founder and CEO of Quick Heal Anti-virus said that being an Indian manufacturer, he was totally committed to fulfill the dream of making India a manufacturing hub. He also appreciated CMDA for its initiatives for the betterment of IT fraternity in Pune.
Aniruddha Menavlikar, president of CMDA highlighted prominent challenges faced by the Channel in Pune. He said that unethical business practices by OLS companies and double taxation of software products are the biggest concerns of IT Channel. He appealed Mr. Suryakant Jadhav to address these burning issues which are adversely impacting IT channel community.
Apart from exhibition of latest technology, CMDA has also focused on creating awareness about technology innovations among citizens of Pune. The association has organized informative sessions on various technology topics like Cloud, Cyber Security, Solar energy and IT etc. CMDA has also allotted a space to Pune Police Cyber Crime cell, State E Governance department, Open Source, Pune chapter and NGO E Centric.
Mr. Menavlikar said that total 95 exhibitors have participated in the Expo. Major vendors like Dell, HP, Lenovo, Intel, Asus, Samsung, Intex, Quick Heal, Max Secure, Net Protector , D-Link, Brother, Zebion, Paco, Cubix ,Kodak, TP Link, Zorba have participated in the event. He said that nearly 35000-40000 visitors will visit the four day technology show.
