Cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 MD quits

The problems for the world’s cheapest Smartphone Freedom 251 have not yet stopped.  Noida-based Ringing Bells MD Mohit Goel, who had once claimed that Freedom 251 which is priced at Rs 250 is the world’s cheapest Smartphone ever launched, has quit. His wife Dharna Goel, Director of the Company, has resigned as well from her post.

Office based in Sector 62 Noida has been shut for over two weeks. The DQ Week tried to reach Mohit Goel on phone, however, he did not respond to our requests for a telephonic conversation.

As of the Freedom 251 itself, the company claims that it has so far delivered around 70,000 units of the Rs 251 smartphone, and will continue to do so, albeit a little differently. Ringing Bells claims that it has so far delivered around 70,000 units of the Freedom 251 in States such as West Bengal, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, New Delhi, Punjab, J&K, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
