Acer has inaugurated its own service longue in Bengaluru. The facility is the first-of-its-kind in South and second in the country after the vendor had inaugurated the first at Delhi in North.
Speaking to ‘The DQ Week', S Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India, said "The state-of-the-art site, located in Jaya Nagar makes the customer get a comfort zone and provides service for all the products of Acer. The service is available for all type of products, be it a within warranty, out-of-warranty and extended warranty." Rajendran also added "The facility has all the stocks readily available and two service engineers will be appointed exclusively for the store. The vendor is planning to increase the footprint by the end of this fiscal and the cities that are likely to get Acer service centre are Mumbai, Pune and Lucknow." The location of the shop was selected for considering the accessibility for the customers.
Sudhir Goel, Chief Supply Chain officer and customer support officer, said, "We are very keen on the support end and we ensure that Acer reaches not just the metros, but also the C, D and E class towns. And on our service centre, we can ensure that every city has one authorized service provider of Acer." Speaking on the service centres, he said, "We do not want to have the facility just as a repair-centre, the facility will provide solutions for wide range of products, be it a breakage or up gradation all-in-one-roof." Goel also said a new hub for spare-parts hub facility in Hyderabad to sort out the logistics issue of the products.
Rajendran also assured that the existing issues of channel partners with the Acer monitors and laptops will be sorted out at priority basis. For a question about the absence of Acer in the all-in-all-pc category even though Acer was the first brand to launch such facility, he said that Acer will make a re-entry into the vertical very immediately.
