Nonetheless this new way of selling has hit the channel partners a lot. Only yesterday Flipkart was celebrating the sale of ‘one million' Motorola phones. However, dealers still believe that if the phone was launched offline it would have sold much more handsets than online retailers. But on the other hand many also believe since Motorola failed twice in India, selling it online was the best strategy for them. In a way, it also indicates that brands which have faced challenges before in terms of brand building are frequently moving towards shopping sites.

Ajaya, Park Network who is a dealer of smartphones of all range and sizes said, "The disparity in prices which vendors are not at all taking into consideration as a problem will actually lead their brand into chaos. As market often flourishes on reliability, people who look for durability and basic handsets, still opt Nokia. Today, smartphone giants are only creating dissatisfied customers everywhere."

Heavy discounts available online hits channel partners most. It also hits the revenue of various state governments. But no support is expected from government as the center in any case is receiving taxes.
