Karnataka Commercial Taxes Department conducted an interactive workshop with the businessmen regarding their experience of e-filing as per the latest KVAT e-UPaSS mandate.

KVAT e-UPaSS (electronic Upload of Purchase & Sales Statements) is an initiative of Karnataka Commercial Taxes Department for undisputed input tax claims and process faster refunds, said the release.

As per the government order dated 29th April 2014, all dealers with more than 50 lakh turnover are required to electronically upload purchase and sales statements into the government portal by the 30th of the subsequent month.

"It (KVAT e-UPaSS) is aimed to make tax filing and processing of refund claims faster and easier for everyone and by interacting with the people here I can say that it has received great response from the business fraternity,'' said Krishna, a commercial tax official.
